Going to Phi phi island and Phuket for 2 weeks. Is it necessary for me to have the rabies injection and hep b?
I have been told by my friend that I SHOULD have these injections (before leaving UK)because there are no hospitals in Phuket or Phi Phi island that will be able to treat me if I was to fall ill (get bitten).
I understand that there are hospitals that will treat me in Bangkok, Thailand but I do not think I would be allowed to leave the island if I am infected with a disease and I understand that you do not have long to live if you were to get rabies.
I would prefer not to have these injections because I do not like needles or spending £200.00.
Thank you.

Are you really saying that you would prefer to die a slow, and horribly painful death? That’s just insane.
I have posted the CDC (USA) recommendations for traveler’s vaccinations. It is recommended that you get these vaccinations done four weeks prior to departure.
