Is it safe and convenient option to rent a car in Phuket?
We are on a holiday in Mid may in laguna beach resort in phuket.Would like to know if a car hire would be a better option than using public taxis or tuk tuks as we intend to visit nice Phuket beaches and other island attractions
Driving in Phuket can be quite dangerous so I would only consider driving if you were familiar with driving in Asia in general. While the roads are quite nice overall, you do have to pay attention to what other drivers are doing & you have the issue of motorbikes to contend with at all. Driving a car, however, will be much safer than riding a motorbike & the possibility of rain during that time would be a good reason to rent a car (generally looking at 1000-1500 baht per day for a rental).
