Patong Beach Resorts And Hotel
3000 Metres of Sand, Sun and much more
A what you might call a vibrant part of the Pearl of the Andamans in Phuket, Patong has it all for the young, the old, the young at heart and of course all you families with young children. With its beach line spanning three thousand metres, and it’s inland vegetation of lush green forests that gently undulate towards the Phuket mountain range. Patong is considered one of those idyllic getaways that would suit either those of you who seek the peace and tranquillity of beach life to those of you who would prefer the more vivacious side of a vacation.
On the one hand, Patong can boast excellent hotels and resorts that will allow its patrons to lie back, soak up the sun and relax, whilst on the other hand, these very hotels can offer free transport to the liveliest areas for hustle, bustle and great nightlife entertainment. Sharing the best of both worlds, no guest could get bored in Patong.
To mention just a few of its activities, there is of course, sun bathing on that 3 kilometres beach of white sands fringed with those beautiful Casuarina trees for one, and to help you along with this, there are deck chairs, sun parasols and acres of space for you to reach out and move about. If you are feeling more than a little energetic, why not hire a jet ski and take to the waves, (swimmers and sea sports are available in separate areas for safety reasons) you can wave at your hotel friends while you splice the crests. A little more of a toned down activity perhaps might be hiring a catamaran. Take snorkelling or diving equipment with you, check out some of that tropical beauty that includes parrot fish and those gorgeous angel fish. If you want to catch some dinner, bring along some fishing gear for that extra adventurous touch. For the slightly more courageous guest, parasailing is the way to go, check out the views of the resorts and hotels from 30 metres up! And after this why not wind down at the end of the day with a pedicure or massage beachside under the shade of trees. If you need to take a break from beach life for a while, there are scores of other places to visit too, like the snake farm, the temples and the Phuket Butterfly and Insectarium. And if that fails you, then there is always the very interesting Phuket town orchid farm.
When the sun sets and moon rises, this is when the nocturnal types like to come out and play. Patong is no stranger to these creatures, and the never ending selection of restaurants, bars, cabaret, massage parlours and go-go bars will certainly satisfy most people’s needs. We can’t leave the night life section without a mention of Soi Bangla which is where your nightlife begins. Pubs and bars stay open all night here but if you are not in for the long haul, then taxis can take you back to your hotel at the drop of a hat.
On a little note on the hotels and resorts available, one such resort springs to mind that offers its guests the tranquillity of Shangrila to the vivacious night life to which it offers courtesy transportation. The Horizon Beach Resort and Spa, you wouldn’t go anywhere without one.
