There is not really a ’safe time’ to hang out in bars in Patong and Thailand in general, what is important is that you have your wits about you and are not too drunk, especially if you are alone and no one is watching your back.
The fastest way to get a girl from a bar to your hotel room would be to pay the bar fine, hail down a cab and give the driver the name of your hotel. What you do is between you and the girl – make sure that you lock your valuables away, including your passport when taking strangers back to your room. Be sure to wear a condom!
Some massage parlous may offer you ‘extras’ but the more professional ones won’t. If you don’t want any ‘extras’, just politely decline.
