I need a job in Phuket,Thailand I am not a Thai national and have no degree…..any ideas? 20,000bht +?
looked on some thai job and news websites but find it difficult to find something decent just to support my accomodation and eating while in Phuket. Most ppl i hear go into english teaching yet i have no degree which i’ve heard is compulsory for teaching jobs…anyone currently living there in the same position or overcome this problem?
You have NO chance to work in Thailand. First of all, you cannot do any jobs that Thai’s do, those are all reserved according to the law for Thai people.
Secondly you have no education, which means back to step one, you would be qualified only to so something the Thai’s can already do.
Teaching English? With no college degree or TEFL certificate you are out of luck there as well.
There are millions of people that want to come live and work in Thailand. It is just not possible for everyone and that is why the Thai laws are the way they are.
The best hope is to come to Thailand and start your own business, but I can tell you that is quite expensive.
There are many college educated Thai’s that do not even make 20,000 thb per month. While 20,000 thb in the west is a very small amount, it is quite allot here in Thailand.
To get a work permit, a company has to sponsor you, first by hiring you, then by posting 2,000,000 thb capital for your work permit, not including all the work permits fee’s you are responsible for.
What company is going to post that amount for a work permit for someone with no skill and education?
Sounds like with you are really out of luck.
