We want to honeymoon in thailand, probably phuket… has anyone done this? we would like some where that we can easily access a lot of water sports as well as markets, resturants, bars… any ideas, websites? things to do and see? just any info good or bad. thank-you.

I recommend Phuket and/or Koh Samui. The thing to remember is, while the location will help enhance the honeymoon, if you’re spending all your time horizontal dancing (it’s your honeymoon so I sincerely hope you will be!) then any location will do when you’re not “dancing”.
Phuket and Koh Samui are both islands that offer great water sports, nightlife and other tourist amenities that will make your honeymoon unforgetable. Since you’re on holiday, don’t worry about the expense; true Phuket is a bit pricey, relative to other locations within Thailand, but it’s still a great value as compared to Europe or America or Australia. Note: Phuket is wilder than Koh Samui.
My wife and I stayed at the TharaPatong Resort in the Patong Beach area (about 4~5 minutes walking distance to the beach-water). We were in Room 1263 and it overlooked one of the two pools; the service was great and the hospitality was first-rate. There may be other hotels equally as good, or better, but I researched hotels for about 3 weeks until I decided this was the best one for us. Check out their website below.
