Surat Thani train station to JW Marriott Phuket?
I will be taking the sleeper train #85 from bangkok and arriving in Surat Thani @ 6:27 am. I have found combo tickets with a bus to Phuket, but don’t all the busses go directly to Phuket Town Station? Which is 40 miles + past the hotel( The JW Marriott which is one of the few on the Northern part of Phuket). Or can those buses make stops, say like near phuket airport, which is much closer to the hotel. Any ideas or suggestions (besides take a plane) ?
I never understood why people want to take the train to Surat Thani and the a bus to Phuket. It’s going to take close to 4 hours by bus from Surat Thani train station to Phuket town. Another option is just taken a bus from Bangkok to Phuket which is about 12 hours overnight trip. As for buses stopping, yes they do. I have taken buses from the Southern Bus Station south many times and just let the steward on the bus know where you want to get off, no problem at all. Flying is of course the best option if you have the money. Also since you are staying at a top resort here you should be able to afford to fly.
